I have known him since the time I was passed on the Honorary Secretaryship of the O.C.A. by the late Mr.F.M.Brown before he left for England in 1961. It was then that O.C.A. ( India ) was formed in Delhi and The Batra brothers ( R.N. & M.N.) taken on the Executive Committee. MN was a school buddy of Freddie Brown and I got quite close to him when he was posted as Director of Military Intelligence and I as a junior I.P.S. Officer in Delhi. After his retirement, he worked in Claridges Hotel where we used to meet occasionally. Had the reputation of being a brilliant Army Officer, was a fine human being, a loyal Cottonian and a great friend. His presence will be sorely missed by us of the O.C.A. Fraternity. My deepest condolences to his sons and their families. God bless the departed noble soul.

We came to meet him on his several visits to bangkok. Even though I was 50 years his junior we could interact like old friends. His will, his guts and his zest for life were truly inspiring.
